Was the Nazi zeppelin, Hindenburg, sabotaged by US Navy? Nazi dirigible destroyed in fiery explosion at Lakehurst Naval Air Station, NJ in 1937. A plausible theory about the disastrous Hindenburg explosion and the death of the Nazi propaganda symbol.
The Hindenburg Enigma
What happened to cause the horrendous disaster of the German zeppelin and symbol of Nazi power, the Hindenburg? Charles Heinz is a young officer with a great future in the U.S. Navy. After being invited to fly as an observer on the Hindenburgʼs first flight of the 1937 season, he realizes that several passengers could be saboteurs. On board is a belligerent, cruel SS colonel who lusts after and despises Maria, a beautiful, amoral woman who shows a refined demeanor to the public. What does she really carry in her travel bag? Why does an overfriendly passenger make so many suspicious visits to the cavernous interior of the Hindenburg? Does Maria really care for the diminutive Jewish entertainer, Christian Meyers, or is he just a pawn for her ambitions? Unable to contact his Navy superiors, Charles must prevent the Germans from using the Nazi zeppelin to attack and destroy U.S. cities in any way he can.
